Minneriya National Park

Minneriya National Park is one of Sri Lanka's most celebrated wildlife destinations and the stage for one of the greatest natural events in the world. Every year during the dry season, hundreds of wild Asian elephants migrate from surrounding forests to the shores of the ancient Minneriya Reservoir, creating the remarkable phenomenon known simply as "The Gathering."
